'The Rotten Island'

Lower Primary School Festival - Grades 2-3

May 13-15, 2016

This festival is open to students in Grades 2 to 3 at GWA. This year we have space for 12 students to join in the fun at right here at GWA!

Overview:

What would happen if every plant, creature and person were allowed to be as rotten as possible? If everything was just plain rotten. If plants could be mean and squirrels nasty? That's life on Rotten Island. For slimy, squidgy old creatures that slither and squelch about, Rotten Island is perfect and they love being rotten. Until something beautiful happens to make everyone and everything realise that there is another way and they need to change.

Using 3D technology, 360 degree cameras and immersive landscapes to create the world and then the magic of theatre to tell stories, this is a festival that asks what happens when something needs to change and how a simple yet beautiful flower can turn rotten characters beautiful.
